This week bet365 have loads of International friendlies on offer for you as the European nations prepare for the next round of qualifiers this weekend. First up are recent World Cup hosts Brazil, as they visit Istanbul to take on Turkey. Dunga’s new look side will be looking to reaffirm themselves as one of world football’s powerhouses following the embarrassing 7-1 defeat to Germany at the World Cup this summer. Shakhtar’s in form striker Luiz Adriano will be looking to receive his first cap following back to back hat tricks in the Champions league and given the performances of Brazil’s strikers in recent history (Neymar exempt), it’s hard to argue against.
Elsewhere World Cup runners up, Argentina, welcome back Carlos Tevez into their squad for the first time in 3 years as they look to overcome Croatia at Upton Park. Last time out Argentina saw off Hong Kong in emphatic style with a 7-0 victory and both Lionel Messi & Gonzalo Higuain grabbing a brace. With a the forward talent on offer to Gerardo Martino, you fear for Croatia.
Stepping away from football, we move across the pond to the USA and this week’s NBA action. Despite losing Lebron James close season, Miami Heat have managed to regain their place at the top of the Southeast Conference standings. This week Britain Loul Deng and co. welcome the struggling Indiana Pacers to the Sunshine State as they hope to register back to back victories for the first time this season.
Also in the NBA this week, reigning champions, the San Antonio Spurs travel to the Staples Center to take on the LA Lakers. The Lakers have a had a terrible start to this season and currently stand at 1-6 for the season, with Kobe Bryant last night breaking the NBA record for most missed shots of all time!
And last up this week, there is the tennis in the form of the ATP Masters Series in London. Novak Djokovic will be looking to take the crown for a 3rd year running, something that has only ever been achieved once and this was back in the eighties by Ivan Lendl. Stanislas Wawrinka will be looking to stand in Djokovic’s way as they clash this evening, before Andy Murray takes on Roger Federer tomorrow.
